The Old Dominion University Chapter, the Eta Omega of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. began its unforgettable legacy on February 23, 1975, making it the first black greek lettered fraternity on campus. On this day, ten courageous, young men were initiated and would be known as the charter members of the Eta Omega Chapter. The charter members of the Eta Omega Chapter are Reginald Bassette, Ronald Brown, Curtis Cole, Dale Douglas, Don Manley, Larry Morris, Walter Saunders, John Smith, Dana Wilder and Ronnie Williams. Since the beginning, the brothers in this chapter created a strong and positive impact on the African American community at Old Dominion University and earned respect from both faculty and fellow students.

Members of this chapter have held countless executive board positions and leadership roles in notable organizations such as Student Government Association (SGA), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), Honor Societies etc. A vast amount of alumni have gone on to extremely successful careers in a wide range of professions such as military, information technology, business, entrepreneurship, etc.

The Eta Omega Chapter earned the name “The Ghost from The Koast” after emerging unexpectedly and instantly becoming one of the most prominent and dynamic chapters in the Eastern province. Despite the number of brothers being less than average, the Eta Omega chapter forged a name for themselves. This chapter will forever uphold the objectives of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and continue its unparalleled excellence.
